Could IPL 2025 be shifted to England amid India-Pakistan tension?

The IPL 2025 has been suspended for one week amid India-Pakistan border tension, while there is still uncertainty about the tournament's restart after a week. Can the tournament shift to any foreign country to finish it? England may be an option for the IPL 2025 conclusion. 

Out of 70 league stage matches in the IPL 2025, 57 matches have already been played, while the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match was called off due to a significant power outage at the stadium and major security concerns. The match points haven't been awarded to any team yet. On Friday (May 9), the IPL 2025 was expectedly suspended for one week.

Can the IPL 2025 restart after one week?

While the IPL governing body is thinking about the rescheduling of the remaining IPL 2025 matches along with changing venues, including four Playoff matches after the completion of the 70-match league stage, it is still hard to quickly sort everything properly amid rising security tensions. Also, the overseas players reportedly want to leave the country in the present situation.  

Can IPL 2025 be shifted?

In this situation, former England captain Michael Vaughan has come up with a possible solution. He feels that the remaining IPL 2025 matches can be played in the United Kingdom, while the Indian players can feel better because of the upcoming five-match Test series in England, which will start in June. 

I wonder if it’s possible to finish the IPL in the UK .. We have all the venues and the Indian players can then stay on for the Test series .. Just a thought ?

While Michael Vaughan is confident, it will still be tougher to reschedule the remaining IPL 2025 quickly to shift to England, especially when the England domestic summer cricket season has just started, and the international cricket season will begin soon. However, in the present situation, England can be a strong option to finish the IPL 2025 strongly and quickly.

According to the latest media report, England has offered to host the remainder of the IPL 2025. In this case, it will be huge news for the IPL. However, the quick rescheduling for the tournament is going to be super challenging. However, as fewer matches are remaining, the IPL 2025 quick finish is still possible, especially if England hosts the tournament.
