CPL 2025, Match 21: Barbados Royals vs Guyana Amazon Warriors full match highlights and scorecard

During the 21st encounter of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025, Barbados Royals locked horns with Guyana Amazon Warriors at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. The Imran Tahir-led side won the toss and decided to bowl first on a dry surface, expecting it to get better in the second innings. 

The Royals made one change to the playing eleven with Shaqkere Perris getting out as the South Africa T20I star batter, Rassie van de Dussen, coming into the side. For the Amazon Warriors, Jediah Blades came into the side with Shamar Joseph getting dropped.

Rovman Powell’s unbeaten half-century smashes Barbados Royals to 165/6

It wasn’t a supreme start for the Barbados side in the first 12 overs of the first innings as they lost half of their side for just 69 runs. Only Brandon King was the contributor in the top order for smashing 39 runs in 27 balls with the help of six boundaries and one six at a strike rate of 144.44.

Rassie van de Dussen and Powell celebrated a fine partnership of 82 runs for the sixth wicket to provide some fire to the depleted innings. The latter remained unbeaten on 50 runs in just 28 balls at a strike rate of 178.57 with six over boundaries as they posted 165/6 in their 20 allotted overs.

Guyana Amazon Warriors complete tense chase by four wickets

It was the same kind of start for the Guyana side, who lost four wickets in five overs for just 30 runs. Shai Hope, the wicket-keeper batter, remained undefeated by the end of the innings as he remained unbeaten on 62 runs in 49 balls at a strike rate of 126.53 with five boundaries and one six.

That was when Hope and Dwaine Pretorious posted an 89-run stand for the fifth wicket, with the latter clubbing 53 runs in 34 balls at a strike rate of 155.88, thanks to four over-boundaries and two fours. Quentin Sampson got 33 runs in 20 balls to complete the chase by four wickets with two balls to spare.
