The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) earned their fourth victory of the season in nine clashes, having got the better of the Mumbai Indians at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk by eight wickets in the 160-run chase. The plan perhaps was to go with the same side in the next game, but they won’t be able to do so.
Ramakrishna Ghosh ruled out of CSK’s IPL 2026 season
CSK brought the right-arm pacer, Ramakrishna Ghosh, for the home fixture against the Mumbai side, where he returned with figures of 1/24 in three overs, including the wicket of Suryakumar Yadav for 21 runs, when the right-handed batter thumped the slower short delivery into the hands of the point fielder.
But less than 24 hours later, the all-rounder has been ruled out for the remainder of the tournament as the franchise put up an official announcement on X (formerly known as Twitter).
“Ramakrishna Ghosh sustained a fracture to his right foot during the CSK v MI match at Chepauk. He will take no further part in IPL 2026. Get well soon, Rambo.” The statement expressed.

He became the seventh player of the franchise to be affected by the injury. Earlier, Dewald Brevis missed the first three games of the edition with an injury, while MS Dhoni has not taken the field, recovering from the knee injury he picked up in a practice session.
Spencer Joshnson, the left-arm spinner, who came as a replacement for injured Nathan Ellis, missed half of the season for his own injury. Khaleel Ahmed was out of the tournament with a heel injury, while their promising and young number three batter, Ayush Mhatre, was out of the event due to the hamstring injury that he picked up against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
