WATCH: Delhi Capitals gift specially-signed jerseys to McLaren F1 stars during IPL 2025

Indian Premier League team Delhi Capitals sent special gifts to McLaren F1 drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Earlier this IPL 2025, the IPL franchise sent specially signed jerseys to the McLaren F1 drivers. 

IPL 2020 runners-up Delhi Capitals are fighting for the remaining one spot for the IPL 2025 Playoffs along with the five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians. On Wednesday (May 21), Delhi Capitals are facing the hosts Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, which is a must-win game for both teams. 

Delhi Capitals players signed jerseys to gift to McLaren F1 drivers

Before the MI vs DC match, Delhi Capitals' social media post revealed their special gift for the McLaren F1 drivers earlier in the ongoing IPL 2025. DC stars Mitchell Starc and Karun Nair took the responsibility to collect their teammates' signatures on the franchise jerseys with the names of Norris and Piastri, which started with their skipper Axar Patel's signature. Not only the DC players, but their mentor, the former English star Kevin Pietersen, also added his signature to the jerseys. Pietersen called Lando his favourite Formula 1 driver because the British played golf. Meanwhile, Piastri is a huge fan of the IPL franchise, as he follows the team.

Defending champion McLaren is dominating in the F1 2025

The McLaren team is currently dominating the ongoing F1 2025 season with 279 points after seven rounds. Oscar Piastri is leading the World Drivers' Championship standings this season, while Lando Norris is in second position. Australian Piastri has 146 points, while Norris has recorded 133 points. Both have recorded six podium finishes each this season, while Piastri has won four rounds and Norris won the season opener. 

McLaren won the last F1 season, which was their first after 1998 and ninth overall success. Norris finished the 2024 season as the runner-up (374 points), while Piastri ended in fourth place (292 points).
