Delhi Capitals have a major setback before their crucial match against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025. Their classy star player, KL Rahul, suffered from injury just before the do-or-die match.

Big Blow for Delhi Capitals as KL Rahul Gets Injured Before Must-Win Game Against Mumbai Indians

As per reports, the right-handed batsman was hit on the knee while batting in the nets on Tuesday (May 20). The blow came from a delivery by Mukesh Kumar, and Rahul walked off the field immediately. So far, there’s been no official word from the team about the seriousness of the injury.

Delhi will be hoping it’s nothing serious. They need Rahul fit and ready, especially with the playoffs on the line. He has been one of their best performers this season and played a superb unbeaten century in their last match against the Gujarat Titans, even though the team lost by 10 wickets.

This upcoming match against the Mumbai Indians is very crucial for Delhi. If they lose, their IPL 2025 journey will end in the league stage match against MI. In tomorrow's match, they need to win to keep themselves alive. While a victory won’t guarantee a playoff spot, it will eliminate Mumbai and put Delhi in a stronger position.

KL Rahul in Top Form

KL Rahul has been in great touch this season. Although he started batting in the middle order, it didn’t affect his form. He scored runs consistently and played a few match-winning innings for Delhi. In the last match, he was promoted to open the innings and grabbed the chance with both hands by scoring a brilliant century.

 So far, Rahul has scored 493 runs from 11 matches, including one hundred and three half-centuries. He’s been one of the few bright spots for Delhi, and the team will be praying for his quick recovery. If he’s fit, he could play a key role in helping them reach the playoffs.
