All eight franchises strengthened their squads by signing a mix of experienced domestic cricketers and promising young talents, making the competition more balanced and exciting ahead of the new season.

The DPL 2026 auction began with a marquee list featuring Tejasvi Dahiya, Himmat Singh, Anuj Rawat, Sarthak Ranjan, Kuldip Yadav, Suyash Sharma, Navdeep Saini, and Simarjeet Singh. Several key players found new teams as the franchises focused on building strong squads for the month-long tournament, which will be played from July 31 to August 30.

The Delhi Premier League has quickly become one of India's top domestic T20 tournaments, helping young players showcase their talent on a bigger stage. Kuldeep Yadav was signed by Central Delhi Kings for ₹30 lakh, Simarjeet Singh joined East Delhi Riders for ₹22 lakh, Vansh Bedi was picked up by Central Delhi Kings for ₹21 lakh, and Mayank Yadav was bought by East Delhi Riders for ₹17 lakh. One of the biggest talking points was 16-year-old Aryaveer Kohli, who was signed by Central Delhi Kings for ₹1.2 lakh, earning another opportunity in the league.

Ahead of the auction, all eight teams retained their core players. Nitish Rana was the highest-priced retention at ₹34 lakh, followed by Prince Yadav at ₹33 lakh and Mayank Rawat at ₹26 lakh. Harshit Rana, Priyansh Arya, and Ayush Badoni were retained for ₹21 lakh each, while Yash Dhull stayed with Central Delhi Kings for ₹15 lakh and Lalit Yadav remained with Puraani Dilli 6 for ₹10 lakh.
