ENG vs IND

England captain Ben Stokes engaged himself with an unnecessary record. A historic record, but with little embarrassment. A record of ducks in the history of Test cricket. The England skipper of the longest format of the game encrypted his name as the 10,000th cricketer in the world to be dismissed with a duck.

The record was created on Day 3 of the ongoing England vs. India 2nd of the five-match Test series when Mohammed Siraj sent back the opposing team skipper to the dugout. The extra bounce Siraj generated was proved enough to stun the left-hand batsman. Rishabh Pant, behind the stumps, grabbed an easy catch to dismiss the host lead captain. The wicket of Stokes was marked as the 10,000th duck in the history of Test cricket.

Siraj, on Day 3, not only troubled Ben Stokes but also emerged as the main wicket taker for India in Jasprit Bumrah's absence. The right-handed pacer claimed a fiery 6-wicket in the first innings of the ongoing contest and wrapped up England's innings at 407.

The India pacer removed Zak Crawley, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Brydon Carse, Josh Tongue, and Shoaib Bashir to position Team India in the front seat. Stokes, Carse, Tounge, and Bashir lost their scalps without scoring a single run.

5 cricketers who got the most number of ducks in tests:

1. Courtney Walsh (West Indies): 43 ducks in 185 innings.

2. Stuart Broad (England): 39 ducks in 244 innings.

3. Chris Martin (New Zealand): 36 ducks in 104 innings.

4. Glenn McGrath (Australia): 35 ducks in 138 innings.

5. Ishant Sharma (India): 34 ducks in 142 innings.
