MS Dhoni, one of the best skippers India ever had and a cornerstone of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), gave some golden advice for young talents who want to represent on a big stage in the future.

In a post-match ceremony, after the CSK vs. Rajasthan Royals (RR) clash, Dhoni said how a young cricketer should take care of his playing style. CSK and RR, both out of IPL 2025 playoff contention, faced off on May 20 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Despite an unsuccessful season, both teams tried their best to offer an entertaining match to the cricket fans.

RR won the match with the help of 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. The batter, who scored a record-breaking IPL century at this age, scored 57 off 33 and helped his team. One of the most iconic frames presented from the contest was when Suryavanshi touched 43-year-old MS Dhoni's feet, a moment between two generations.

Dhoni advised budding cricketers not to take extra pressure

After the match in the presentation ceremony, the CSK captain said to the upcoming cricketers, "Don’t take that extra pressure—once you have a good season, a lot of people expect a lot of things from you. So it’s the pressure of expectations that is set by others. What is important is to be the same way you have been."

If it’s your first season, don’t try anything different—try to learn from some of the senior players or the coaching staff as to how you can get much more consistent, and it’s about reading the game. If you are an opener or a top-order batter, what is important is to finish the game. That really helps you develop as a batter. This would be my advice to all the youngsters who have done well," he further added.
