"It is his call"โ CSK official clears doubts around MS Dhoni ahead of DC vs CSK IPL 2026 match
Whether MS Dhoni will play in the next match of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is unknown to anyone except Dhoni himself.

Whether MS Dhoni will play in the next match of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is unknown to anyone except Dhoni himself. A senior official of the team reveals, ahead of the Delhi Capitals vs Chennai Super Kings (DC vs CSK) match, that Dhoni is committed and focused, and the final call on a comeback depends entirely on his own decision.
Chennai Super Kings are heavily in the title contention despite a wobbly launch in IPL 2026. As they have managed to win in their previous few games, they remain in the race to get a confirmed berth in the play-offs.
When will MS Dhoni play for CSK in IPL 2026?
Along with the team’s performance, the CSK fans have been waiting for one concrete piece of news, that is, the availability of their former skipper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Like CSK’s chances to be in the play-offs under uncertainty, so are Dhoni’s chances to play for the franchise in the ongoing Indian Premier League season.
Ahead of Chennai Super Kings’ match against the Delhi Capitals, which is scheduled to be on April 5, tomorrow, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, one of the senior officials of the 5-time IPL winners informed RevSportz that MSD has been working hard and is fully committed and extremely focused on training. But, when he will play or whether we will play, even the management has no answer; only Dhoni himself can tell about this.

Not something any one of us knows: CSK official
“I can surely tell you that Dhoni is working hard to make it. He is committed and is extremely focused on training. But when he will decide to make a comeback is not something any one of us knows. It is his call”, a senior member of the CSK management told the news platform.
Meanwhile, the Chennai Super Kings sustain another injury blow. The franchise has informed that one of their young talents, Ramakrishna Ghosh, who only made his debut against the Mumbai Indians on May 2, has been ruled out for the remainder of the season because of a foot fracture, which he received during the CSK vs MI match.
CSK suffered another injury blow in IPL 2026
“Ramakrishna Ghosh sustained a fracture to his right foot during the CSK v MI match at Chepauk. He will take no further part in IPL 2026. Get well soon, Rambo,” the management said this in an official announcement.
Though the exact nature of the injury is not disclosed yet. To dismiss the MI opener Will Jacks, Ghosh took a diving catch, and he also tumbled in his follow-through after delivering his first ball, to Naman Dhir.
“His improvement in recent weeks has been noticeable. He has been training really well at our academy sessions. We use two grounds, and he's been very impressive. It's disappointing that he got injured towards the end. The other point is that he can bat, and bat well, which is an area of big improvement. So he can genuinely be called an all-rounder,” CSK head coach Stephen Fleming said this about Ramakrishna Ghosh’s injury in his post-match press conference.
