Ramesh said, "That's a terrible situation. That's not just the match. He's a phenomenal white-ball captain." Followed by a question, "Why is this rush?"
Shedding a light on the upcoming World Cup and what Rohit did for India in the last few ICC events, the former batter thinks that the decision to remove Sharma is too early, as changing captaincy can affect the performance of the team massively.

Ramesh has questioned the Ajit Agarkar-led selection panel for not including Ravindra Jadeja in the ODI squad for the Australia tour. Jadeja last played for India in ODIs in the 2025 Champions Trophy.
