The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the match-wise appointments for the league stage of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, confirming that the tournament will feature an all-female Emirates ICC Panel of Match Officials. This marks another significant step forward in women’s cricket, ensuring the competition is overseen by some of the game’s most respected and trailblazing officials.

The tournament opener between India and Sri Lanka in Guwahati will be officiated by Claire Polosak and Eloise Sheridan as the on-field umpires. The duo share a rich history, having become the first female pair to stand together in a competitive match in Australia back in 2018. They later created further history in 2023, taking charge of a Sheffield Shield encounter. For Polosak, this will be her third Cricket World Cup, while Sheridan will continue her journey after standing in the last edition in New Zealand.

Joining them in the opening fixture will be Kim Cotton as the TV umpire, Shathira Jakir Jesy as the fourth umpire, and Shandré Fritz as the match referee. Cotton is another trailblazer, remembered as the first woman to umpire a World Cup final in 2022.

The following day in Indore, defending champions Australia will begin their campaign against ICC Women’s T20 World Cup holders New Zealand. Sue Redfern and Gayathri Venugopalan will serve as the on-field umpires in what promises to be one of the early highlights of the tournament.

On October 2, the competition moves to Sri Lanka, where Bangladesh will face Pakistan. South Africa’s Lauren Agenbag, who previously officiated the 2022 final, will join Sri Lanka’s Nimali Perera on the field, underlining the depth of experience across the panel. Appointments for the semifinals and final will be announced later, once the tournament progresses.
