The Pakistan Super League 2026 (PSL 2026) has just started, while Babar Azam-led Peshawar Zalmi are ready to play their first game of the season on Saturday afternoon (March 28). Ahead of their season opener, Babar had an ad shoot, where he dropped a catch. While it was a funny shoot, some fans are trolling the former Pakistan captain. 

Babar Azam is the legendary Pakistan cricketer who holds the record for the most runs in T20I history. However, the former Pakistan captain is currently struggling on the field and facing massive criticism not only for his poor performances, but more for his lack of a serious attitude. While the 31-year-old has strong experience in the game, many fans are expecting better responsibility from him, but he is only disappointing the cricket fans every day. 

On the field, Babar is also known as a safe fielder. However, in the recent ad shoot, he dropped a catch, which should have been taken according to the international quality standard. While the video is getting viral, some fans are making fun of it. 

Babar Azam set to lead Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 2026

The leading T20I run-scorer Babar Azam is unsurprisingly the leading run-scorer in the history of the Pakistan Super League. It is going to be his fourth season for Peshawar Zalmi, as he is ready to lead the franchise for the PSL 2026. Since he joined the franchise in the 2023 edition, Babar has been leading the side. Under his leadership, Zalmi recorded 15 wins and 17 losses in 32 games. The four-time finalists and 2017 champions Peshawar Zalmi haven't reached the Final in the last four seasons, while they failed to reach the playoffs last season (2025), which happened for the first time ever in their PSL history.

Fans troll Babar Azam for the embarrassing advertisement shoot 

While Babar has failed to respect his position as an experienced cricketer on the field, fans are now trolling him regularly, which is only rising. He was heavily criticised for his disappointing performances in the recently concluded ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, as he was even dropped from the playing XI. Later, he wasn't included in the recently concluded Bangladesh tour, where Pakistan lost the three-match ODI series by 2-1.
