BCCI to introduce FIFA World Cup production in IND vs AFG T20I series 2026
BCCI is bringing FIFA World Cup-standard broadcast production to the IND vs AFG T20I series, with director Jamie Oakford leading ultra-slow-motion cameras, AI POV shots and volumetric replay tech.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to introduce the FIFA World Cup 2026 production technology for India’s next three-match T20I series against Afghanistan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. That will bring a new entertainment aspect to the 20-over series.
The ITW Universe, which holds the rights to the series, is elevating its production to standards that were recently used in the FIFA World Cup 2026 in America, which is the biggest sporting event on the planet, as the company revealed.

The AI-stabilised POV cameras, the free-viewpoint technology, ultra-motion, and cine-style storytelling will be among the new features in the production. The series will be directed by Jami Oakford, who also directed every FIFA World Cup since 2002, including the final in 2014.
“This is the first time a bilateral cricket series will be produced to full FIFA World Cup host-broadcast standards. The same individuals who directed the FIFA World Cup Final and multiple UEFA Champions League Finals will lead the gallery.” The rights holder said in a statement.
The volumetric Free Viewpoint technology is the use of a network of cameras that will make a 3D digital twin of the surface. The ITW Universe found that Bhairav Shanth claimed that they had been trying to develop the old production.

“We want to move away from the same old production technology that has been used in cricket for the last 10-12 years. The series will give new experiences to the viewers and brands.” Shanth expressed.
The series will use the Quidich Innovation Labs’ system. It’s combined with real-time optical player tracking, as it delivers a good broadcast with the field-placement graphics, strategy visualization, and storytelling angles.
When, where and how to watch the IND vs AFG T20I series 2026
The opening T20I of the three-match series between India and Afghanistan will be played on September 13, before the second game takes place on September 15, while the third and final T20I takes place on September 17 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
“The BCCI remains committed to supporting the growth of cricket in Afghanistan and providing its players with opportunities to compete at the highest level. Bilateral cricket is an important part of this, as it allows teams to play regularly against quality opposition and gain valuable experience.” The BCCI president, Mithun Manhas, expressed this in a statement.
