On the fifth day of the opening Test of the two-match series between Sri Lanka and India at the Galle Cricket Ground, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s masterplan put pressure on the wicket-keeper batter, Niroshan Dickwella, who made the mistake of losing concentration and lost his wicket to brought the opposition closer to the victory.

India had been in front of the clash since the opening the day when Devdutt Padikkal smashed a fine century with a massive score on the board in the first innings, before the tourists got bundled out early in the second innings. But they had to fight the rain a lot of times in this Test.

Jaiswal's cheeky banter rattles Dickwella, who falls to a rash shot off the very next ball

On the fifth delivery of the 60th over of the fourth innings, Dickwella hopped after giving himself some room against Prasidh Krishna and slapped it to the sweeper cover for a couple of runs. Before the next ball, he exchanged a few words with Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was standing at the backward point region.

Watch Jaiswal's cheeky banter with Dickwella-

“Come on yaar, there was a lot of shots in first innings. We need to see something, come on” said Jaiswal to Dickwella before adding, “Yes, I want to see. Come on, show me. Hit him there (pointing towards deep square leg), come on. Why not?”

Dickwella told him that he would hit the six only if he gets to the Indian Premier League as Jaiswal added, “We will, we will. 100%. Come on, hit him a six, I'll take you to the IPL.”

Now, on the very next delivery, the left-handed batter moved around so much, shuffling across and moving to leg side. But Krishna kept it simple and followed the batter, who threw his bat at it away from the body and ended up getting the outside edge into the hands of the wicket-keeper.

India seal series-opening win in Galle after reducing Sri Lanka's lower order

India posted a massive score of 462 runs in their first innings with Paddikal nailing 167 runs off 230 balls, thanks to his 15 boundaries and one six, along with the two half-centuries from KL Rahul and Dhruv Jurel.

The blue brigade gained a massive lead in the first innings after bundling out the hosts for 284 runs where Sonal Dinusha smashed a fine century as Manav Suthar returned with figures of 4/76. Rishabh Pant’s 69-ball 66-run knock set a massive target of 372 runs for the home side.
