Once again, Indian cricketer Karun Nair failed to grab his opportunity, as he failed to convert another start during the visitors' comfortable situation in their second innings of the Edgbaston Test. Fans are completely unhappy with Nair's another failure in Test cricket.

Before the beginning of India's second innings in the Edgbaston Test, the visitors were already leading by 180 runs. The no.3 batter Karun Nair joined the crease in the late moments of day three of the second innings after a 51-run opening partnership. Nair started the fourth day with seven runs and set up a 45-run partnership with the opener KL Rahul for the second wicket.

Karun Nair lost his wicket for 26 runs

The English pacers Chris Woakes and Brydon Carse were bowling really well on the fourth day morning of the Edgbaston Test, as they asked some tough questions to both Rahul and Nair. Nair once again showed his quality cover drives and scored 26 runs, but he was ultimately caught behind in Josh Tongue's delivery.

Returning to Test cricket after seven years, Nair has scored 0, 20, 31, and 26 runs in the last four innings, respectively. In the last three Test innings, Nair got starts but lost his wickets and failed to utilise the golden opportunities to score big runs in the ongoing England tour.

Karun Nair has poor record in Test cricket except for his triple century knock

Apart from scoring 303 not out against England during the 2016 Chennai Test, Nair has managed to score only one more 30+ score in his other 10 Test innings, which is not a good picture for any Test batter. In fact, excluding his triple century innings, Nair's Test batting average is only 14.80.

So, Indian cricket fans are completely disappointed with Nair. While Nair was desperate to return to the national team, his outstanding form with the bat in domestic cricket highly impressed the Indian cricket fans, as they have always supported him in the tough moments. However, some fans are now feeling hopeless with the right-handed batter, who has now been praised only for his strong slip catching techniques.
