Rohit Sharma, known as the "Hitman" of Indian cricket, has solidified his place as one of the greatest batters in the history of the sport. From his elegant stroke play to hitting monstrous sixes, Sharma has rewritten the record books in every format. With a number of Guinness World Records under his name, Rohit's career is a reference point in consistency, power, and brilliance at the international level.
One of Rohit's famous accolades is the record for highest individual One Day International (ODI) score. On November 13, 2014, Sharma scored an astonishing 264 runs against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. No man has even gotten close to this number since that day, bringing obvious international fame and bolstering his name as one of the greatest cricketers of all time.
Just as impressive is Rohit's record as the only player in the history of ODIs to score three double centuries. The first in 2013 was 209 against Australia, then 264 in 2014, then a commanding 208* again against Sri Lanka in 2017. All of these innings showed unique combinations of patience, timing, and pure power-hitting that few (if any) men in the world are able to replicate.

Rohit holds the Guinness World Record for the most sixes across international cricket after passing Chris Gayle’s record. As of 2024, Rohit has cleared the boundary over 637 times in international cricket — a number that is clearly incomprehensible in demonstrating his dominance across formats. He certainly has the ability to frustrate bowlers around the world with six hitting.
Another feature performance came during the Test series against South Africa in 2019, where Rohit launched 13 sixes during the single match, which was a world record for sixes in a Test match record, testifying to his adaptability, being just as dangerous in the longest format as in white-ball cricket.
From World Cup success and leading his team to victory to perfectly consistent performances with his bat, Rohit Sharma's story is folklore. His records reflect his individual greatness but also reflect his contribution to Indian cricket. The BCCI recently congratulated him with a wonderful video tribute, and his fans from around the world could begin to appreciate how unique of a player Rohit is!
