Hasan Ali spotted on Indian train? Funny pickpocket video goes viral

The right-arm medium pacer, Hasan Ali, has gone viral on social media platforms as he has been caught in an Indian train for pickpocketing. It has triggered widespread speculation in Pakistan after users claimed that it displayed the fast bowler being assaulted during the train journey.

The posts that accompany the video allege that Ali, who was purportedly visiting India to meet his in-laws, had been abused and beaten with sticks while travelling by the train in Delhi.

The claims have spread online, as they prompted outrage among the users in Pakistan, who described the alleged incident as disturbing and called for action if the allegations were found to be true. There is currently no verified evidence to back the claim that the individual seen in the viral footage is Hasan Ali.

The video has come under scrutiny, with many commentators requesting social media users to avoid concluding official verification. Among them, many question the central claim that the man visible in the footage doesn’t resemble Hasan Ali.

It has also been urged that the background audio suggests that the incident may involve a person who had entered a women’s compartment, with the police appearing to intervene, rather than an attack targeting the Pakistan star player.

It has further been questioned that Hasan has been a prominent international cricketer rather than an ordinary traveller. It has also been pointed out that his wife belongs to a well-known family, raising doubts over the claimed video.

As of now, neither the bowler nor the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued any statement regarding the viral video or the allegations being circulated online on social media platforms. Hasan is married to an Indian national, Samia Arzo. They tied the knot in Dubai in 2019 during a ceremony, which was attended by the family members and Shadab Khan, another Pakistan player.

Hasan recently featured in the T20 Blast for the Yorkshire side and played his final clash against Somerset. In the last five clashes of the event, he picked up 12 wickets, with the best bowling figures of 4/25 in an innings against Leicestershire.
