A landmark match for India women's captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Today (September 14, 2025), he stepped into Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA Stadium, in Punjab, to play the 150th ODI match of his career. India locks horns with Australia, ahead of the Women's ODI World Cup, to participate in a 3-match ODI series. Cricket fans across social media platforms are celebrating this special occasion through their various social media posts.

Australia has been dominating over the past few months in every corner of the planet. Though India, with a lot of emerging talents, now has the belief they can pull off great wins against the top forces of the cricket world. Kaur remains as the central figure of women's cricket in India. The board created the new-age team around her. Harmanpreet broke through in 2009, but from 2013, she started to play on another level. The century against England at home was praised by cricket pundits and the opposition captain. In 2013, the board handed the captaincy of the Indian ODI team to Mithali Raj when she was rested for the limited-overs series against Bangladesh. She became the Indian women's cricket team's full-time skipper in 2016.

So far, in 149 ODIs, she has scored 4069 runs at an amazing batting average of 37.67, powered by seven 100s and nineteen 50s. She picked up 31 wickets as well during this time.

Before starting things off against Australia for the ongoing series, Kaur said, "They have been dominating for a long time. But now we have come to a point where everyone is thinking that we can beat them. Earlier, we were working hard to get to that level."
