India set new T20I record after winning IND vs SA 3rd T20I
With the seven-wicket victory against South Africa in the2025 Dharamsala T20I, India set a new T20I record.

India claimed another dominant win against South Africa to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match home T20I series after securing a powerful victory by seven wickets with 25 balls remaining at Dharamsala on Sunday (December 14) night. With that victory, India set a new T20I record.
India bowled out South Africa for 117
While the series was 1-1 level, the Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav chose to field first after winning the toss. India were without Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah, as both were forced changes, and still the hosts bowled out the visitors for only 117 runs in 20 overs, as all the Indian bowlers delivered powerful performances. Among the Indian bowlers, Arshdeep Singh (2/13), Harshit Rana (2/34), Varun Chakravarthy (2/11), and Kuldeep Yadav (2/12) all bagged two wickets each, while Hardik Pandya (1/23) and Shivam Dube (1/21) got one wicket each.

In reply, opener Abhishek Sharma produced a powerful start with a 60-run partnership in 5.2 overs with his opening partner Shubman Gill, as Abhishek scored 35 off 18 balls with three fours and three sixes. Although the other Indian batters struggled on the challenging pitch, Abhishek Sharma's stormy batting performance was enough for the hosts to comfortably chase the target, even though there was a time when runs were hardly coming.
India chased down the target in 15.5 overs after losing three wickets. It was India's fastest T20I chase against South Africa. Shubman Gill scored a run-a-ball 28 runs, while Tilak Varma scored 26 not out off 34 balls. Captain Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed after scoring 12 runs, while Shivam Dube ended the game with the score of 10 not out in four balls.

It was India's 20th T20I win against South Africa, the record number of T20I wins for a team against South Africa. India surpassed Australia's previous record of winning 19 T20Is against South Africa.
