India squad for Hong Kong Sixes 2025 named under former RCB star’s leadership
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released their squad for the upcoming Hong Kong Sixes 2025 which is going to begin on November 06 as the Indian side will be under the leadership of former RCB star.

The Hong Kong Sixes 2025 will be back from November 06 in Mong Kok, Hong Kong. After a decent delay, the Indian squad has been announced for the tournament as the Blue Brigade has gone with several retired players, with the former wicket-keeper batter of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Dinesh Karthik, set to lead the side.
Apart from the right-handed batter, the Indian squad will consist of Robin Uthappa, Stuart Binny, Abhimanyu Mithun, Bharat Chipli, Shahbaz Nadeem, and the domestic veteran Priyank Panchal. The event happens to be one of the competitions where, somehow, the teams haven’t been at their best.
Karthik, the 40-year-old, has smashed 7537 runs in 364 innings at an average of 27 and a strike rate of 136.66 with the help of 35 half-centuries at the best score of unbeaten 97 runs. In the IPL career, he has clubbed 4842 runs in 234 innings at an average of 26.31 and a strike rate of 135.36, thanks to 22 half-centuries at the best score of 97*.
Dinesh Karthik to lead India’s squad in Hong Kong Sixes 2025
Since the start of the tournament in 1992, the Blue Brigade has managed to win the event only once in 2005, and two runners-up finishes. Meanwhile, Pakistan, England, and South Africa have five titles each, while Sri Lanka- the current champions of the tournament- have two trophies to their name.
In the previous edition, led by Uthappa, Manoj Tiwari, Binny, Shreevats Goswami, Kedar Jadhav, Chipli, and Nadeem were part of the team as well. Last year, they had a poor outing in pool C, where they lost both the clashes against Pakistan and the UAE. Sachin Tendulkar played the event multiple times in the 1990s.
As far as the rules, it would be a side match with only semis and finals consisting of eight-ball overs. There are no free hits on offer for no-balls, while a barter will be retired upon scoring a fifty.
