In the final game of the series on Wednesday (January 7), South Africa U19 chose to field first after winning the toss. While India U19 scored 393/7 in 50 overs, South Africa U19 were bundled out for only 160 runs in 36 overs, as India U19 won the match by 233 runs.
Both Indian openers slammed centuries
Indian openers, Aaron George and captain Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had a strong 227-run partnership in 25.4 overs for the first wicket. Both the openers scored centuries, as Vaibhav scored 127 off 74 balls with nine fours and 10 sixes, while Aaron scored 118 off 106 balls with 16 fours.
After the openers stromy batting, the no.3 batter Vedant Trivedi scored 34 off 42 balls, while the no.8 batter Mohamed Enaan (28 not out off 19 balls) and the no.9 batter Henil Patel (19 not out off 21 balls) played some useful cameos.
Among the African bowlers, Ntando Soni (3/61) got three wickets, and Jason Rowles (2/59) had two wickets.
South Africa U19 lost their first four wickets for 15 runs
In reply, South Africa U19 lost their first four wickets for only 15 runs, as none of their top four batters managed to reach double-digit scores. While the middle-order batters Daniel Bosman (40), Paul James (41), and Corne Botha (36*) scored some good runs, Jason Rowles (19) was the only other batter to manage a double-digit score in that innings.
All seven Indian bowlers got at least one wicket, including the skipper Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (2-0-10-1), while Kishan Singh scalped three wickets (3/15) and Mohamed Enaan got two wickets (2/36).
In their first two meetings of the series, India U19 claimed a 25-run win (DLS method) and an eight-wicket win with 21 balls remaining (DLS method).
