India vs Bangladesh women's T20I and ODI series postponed.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to reschedule Bangladesh’s Women’s tour of India for the white-ball series, which was supposed to take place in December this year, divided into the three-match ODI series and the same number of T20I series.

The reports of ESPNcricinfo have revealed that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had received a letter from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) saying that the white-ball trip would be scheduled at a later date. The BCCI didn’t give any particular reason for the decision to postpone the series, but it has noted that the prevailing political tensions between the two sides were a key factor.

The white-ball series will be a part of the Future Tours Programme of the International Cricket Council (ICC). It was meant to be the last set of games for the national side ahead of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026, which will now be the next assignment for the World Cup-winners. The games were supposed to happen in Cuttack and Kolkata to start the ODI championship cycle.

Post the WPL 2026 from the first week of January to the first week of February, the Indian women’s side is scheduled to make a trip to Australia for the white-ball series down under. India and Bangladesh’s political relationship has been tense recently after the recent uprising in Bangladesh.

The Supreme Court of Bangladesh also announced a death sentence to their former PM, Sheikh Hasina, for her involvement in ordering a crackdown on Bangladeshi protestors. India is currently the ODI World Champions by beating South Africa in the final at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.
