Rajat Patidar already made decent contributions in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to collect two successive wins in the event. But he was yet to put up a huge contribution, something which he has been known for since making his arrival into the franchise, and led them to their maiden title.

Bengaluru, despite making a strong start with the bat, kept losing wickets inside the powerplay, and once they saw the back of Virat Kohli in the fifth over of the innings, they needed someone to stay longer and hold one end to help them cross the 180-run mark.

Rajat Patidar’s pull shot against Nandre Burger for 6 goes viral

Bengaluru had just lost Romario Shepherd on the last delivery of the 14th over and needed to shift gears. Rajat Patidar took charge of the innings and welcomed the left-arm pacer, Nandre Burger, for a massive six. It was a pitched-up delivery by the bowler, and the right-handed batter stood tall and smashed it over long-off for a massive six.

After a dot, the right-handed batter played one of the phenomenal shots of the evening. It was banged in short from around the wicket by the bowler as Patidar got into a good position and pulled it over deep backward square leg for half a dozen. That was the second six of the over from the skipper.

Patidar celebrated his fifty with a boundary as he creamed through the gap at covers. He got to the milestone in just 35 balls. He backed the power with two successive sixes against Ravi Bishnoi before being dismissed for 63 runs in 40 balls, thanks to four boundaries and as many sixes.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi blows away RCB in 202-run chase

When Bengaluru set the target of 202 runs against Rajasthan, they needed early wickets inside the powerplay, especially with the expansion of Suyash Sharma, who won’t come because they picked Venkatesh Iyer as the impact player.

And their nightmare got increased when Vaibhav Sooryavanshi completed his fifty in just 15 balls. He got to the mark with four sixes and seven boundaries as the required run rate came under nine.

Brief Scores: (at the time of writing)- RR 129/3 (V Sooryavanshi 78, K Pandya 2/14) vs RCB 201/8 (Rajat Patidar 63, R Bishnoi 2/32)
