India vs Pakistan WC 2027: 1 lakh+ ticket applications, dates

The ticket demand for the upcoming India vs Pakistan clash in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2027 in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia has attracted the highest demand, with more than one lakh ticket applications being received by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Over 3.2 lakh fans have registered for the ballot box, submitting their applications for the games as the wait continues to build for the 14th edition of the event. The South Africa vs India game has 86000 applications, while India vs Australia has got more than 80000.

The ticket prices have ranged from INR 927 for the entry-level to INR 3017 for the highest-tier matches. Special arrangements are being made for the family bundles, early local allocations, school groups, and other aspects.

“One million tickets in just over 48 hours of opening the ticket ballot is a demonstration of the attention, stature and affiliation for ICC Cricket World Cup 2027. ICC events are now spectacles which transcend cultural and geographic boundaries and serve as platforms to widen and deepen fandom for the sport.” The ICC CEO, Sanjog Gupta, expressed.

The fans have the full day till November 21 to register for the ballot and select their squads for their wishful games at tickets.cricketworldcup.com.

“This is also Africa's moment to shine as an ICC marquee men's event is returning to the continent after two decades and brings with it the attention of 2.5 billion cricket fans across 120+ countries.” Gupta addressed.

“We aim to ‘make the circle bigger’, for fans, for the athletes, for the game, and for communities who will gather to celebrate the competition and the culture. The ballot is open, and we can't wait to host the world, so get in if you haven't already.” He concluded.

The 12 teams are confirmed as the group stage is divided into two groups of six. India, Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, and Qualifier A are from the first group, while the second group will be New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, England, Bangladesh, and Qualifier B.

The opening game for the Indian side will be on October 07 against Australia at Newlands in Cape Town before India face Pakistan in their group-stage encounter on October 10 at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

India could again meet Pakistan in the Super 7 stage if both teams qualify. They can also play each other in either the potential semifinal or the final, which is scheduled to take place on November 21 at the Wanderers.
