India’s captain, Suryakumar Yadav, called the rivalry between India and Pakistan during the Asia Cup 2025 as a normal fixture, but there has been a massive interest among the fans during the contest between the two sides in the recent meeting of the T20 World Cup 2026at the R. Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Colombo.
JioStar, the official digital and broadcast partner of the ICC tournament, has revealed that the high-octane clash recorded a massive digital reach of 163 million, which is the biggest to date. It has never reached to this type of hype before an ICC T20 WC clash.

“On mobile, the game clocked the highest match reach in the league stage of any ICC T20 event and 1.2x more than the last India-Pakistan clash at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Recognized as the Greatest Rivalry in cricket, the India-Pakistan contest demonstrated its unmatched appeal as fans converged on JioHotstar. On CTV, the match reach was 2.4x higher than the India-Pakistan contest of the 2024 edition.” The JioStar official expressed.

In terms of contest, there was nothing significant between the two teams. India posted a strong score of 175 runs for the lose of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs before bundling out the opposition for 114 in 18 overs to claim the 61-run victory.

The two sides could again meet each other in the semifinal at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
