India vs Sri Lanka XI warm-up match 2026: Live streaming, squads and match timings

As the Indian cricket team arrives in Colombo on August 05, they are set to start their most anticipated two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, starting from August 15. They will start their preparations with a three-day warm-up match against a competitive Sri Lanka XI from August 07 at the Nondescripts Cricket Club (NCC) ground. 

The practice fixture gives the Indian side a golden opportunity to make the transition to sub-continental conditions and prepare for the red-ball series. Led by the captain Shubman Gill and coached by Gautam Gambhir, the young blue brigade is looking to adjust, especially in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah.

India have faced a turbulent period in recent times, including the 0-3 home whitewash against New Zealand- highlighted by a shocking collapse of 46 all-out in Bengaluru- followed by the 3-1 defeat in the Border Gavaskar Trophy along with the 0-2 home series loss to South Africa.

The Sri Lanka XI will see a lot of local stalwarts and rising domestic performers looking to test themselves against high-profile opposition. Playing on familiar turf in Colombo, the hosts will look to exploit any early assistance for spinners.
