The former and current Indian players, including Sachin Tendulkar and Suryakumar Yadav, have wished the country’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, a happy birthday, as their wishes went viral on social media platforms. PM Modi celebrated his 76th birthday on September 17, 2026, as the cricketing fraternity took to social media to extend their heartfelt wishes.  

In terms of the current games, the blue brigade is engaged in the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, where they won the first two clashes quite comfortably in the easy run chases at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

The current Indian head coach, Gautam Gambhir, wished PM Modi on his 76th birthday. Before joining the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and becoming the head coach of the Indian side, Gambhir served as a member of Parliament in India from 2019 to 2024, representing the East Delhi constituency for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The two other former Indian players, Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh, also penned a note in which they highlighted the leadership of PM Modi, stating that his leadership continues to shape the country’s journey towards a strong future.

“Happy Birthday to Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. Wishing you good health, happiness and continued strength in your service to our nation.” Suryakumar wrote on his X account (formerly known as Twitter).

The former Indian spinner, Harbhajan Singh, who serves as a member of parliament in the Rajya Sabha, representing Punjab, also wished PM Modi on his 76th birthday.
