Madhya Pradesh left-handed spin bowler Vaishnavi Sharma moved up to the next level of her professional cricket career by making her debut with the Indian Women’s National Cricket team. Her first cap with the Indian team came as a result of her excellent form in domestic and international matches leading up to her representation on the international level against Sri Lanka, where she made her T20I international debut. She demonstrated to everyone in attendance during her T20I debut how confident and calm she was when bowling, and this reflected on the fact that the team management trusted her ability to represent India at the senior level.

Vaishnavi’s consistent performances in age-based competitions and in domestic competitions ultimately resulted in her being chosen to represent India at the international level. She was the leading wicket-taker during India’s world-leading performance in the recently completed Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup, where she finished with 17 wickets taken overall. Her strong performances continued in domestic cricket, where she took 21 wickets during the Senior Women's T20 Trophy and was also the leading wicket-taker in the Senior Women's Inter-Zonal T20 tournament. In that tournament, she took 12 wickets in only five innings. Both of these accomplishments supported her final selection to the World Cup tournament and solidified her case to wear the national colors of Indian women's cricket.

Born in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Vaishnavi is the first cricketer from Chambal to wear the blue jersey for India at the senior level. Her upbringing through the Tansen Cricket Academy in Gwalior, where she trained in a disciplined manner for several years, laid the groundwork for her success. Her junior-level performance has been recognized with the Jagmohan Dalmiya Trophy for Best Woman Cricketer, demonstrating her potential to be a long-term regular for Indian cricket.

Speaking with Suno India, Vaishnavi mentioned her admiration for Virat Kohli due to his achievements on and off the field, specifically related to his fitness, records, and general persona. She also described Rohit Sharma as one of her favorite players due to his calm leadership and his effortless batting style. The legendary Sachin Tendulkar continues to be a massive source of inspiration for Vaishnavi, especially because of his discipline, humility, and longevity.
