IPL 2024: Australian all-rounder Jake Fraser-McGurk replaces Lungi Ngidi In Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals got a massive blow ahead of the IPL 2024 as they have signed Australian top-order batter Jake Fraser-McGurk as replacement for Lungi Ngidi as well. Notably, Ngidi is still recovering from the lower-back injury he sustained during the SA20 earlier in the year.

Fraser-McGurk could be a vital cog for his side

Meanwhile, Fraser-McGurk, who played three matches for Dubai Capitals in the ILT20 this season, will soon join Delhi Capitals for his base price of INR 50 lakh as well. However, Fraser-McGurk, who also bowls some legspin, was included as an allrounder at the last IPL auction. However, he has only bowled four overs in professional cricket – and only one in T20s as well.

The 21-year-old youngster, praised by Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting as a potential all-format star for Australia as well, made his international debut last month a swell, playing two ODIs at home against West Indies. He has played 37 T20s so far and strikes at 133.54 as well.

Lungi Ngidi being ruled out of IPL 2024

Meanwhile, Lungi Ngidi being ruled out leaves Delhi Capitals with Anrich Nortje, Mukesh Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, Jhye Richardson and Rasikh Salam in the fast-bowling department as well, while Mitchell Marsh can throw down a few overs also.
