Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star player Ayush Mhatre has been on top of his game today (May 25) against Gujarat (GT). After doing wonders with the bat, his extraordinary effort in fielding caused a wicket for Gujarat.
A display of all-round performance at Narendra Modi Stadium by a 17-year-old cricketer. Gujarat Titans, the team already qualified for the next round, was under pressure against CSK, a five-time IPL champion knocked out this time. With some swashbuckling batting performances, Chennai Super Kings got a mammoth total of 230 on the scoreboard.

In a high-octane match, where runs are flowing, West Indian batter Sherfane Rutherford can take a decisive role. The fearless left-handed batter in this ongoing IPL season scored 267 runs in 12 games with a 157.05 strike rate.
CSK bowlers were desperate to dispatch Rutherford as soon as possible, and they could not have done that without Mhatre. The middle-order batter swung his bat on an Anshul Kamboj delivery; the connection was good, and the ball was traveling fast. Ayush was then positioned at the mid-wicket region, dove to his left, and grabbed that flying ball with his one hand only— thus CSK successfully departed Sherfane Rutherford.
In this match the 17-year-old top-order batter created mayhem in Narendra Modi Stadium today with the bat also. In an over in Gujarat, Mhatre thrashed 28 runs; the bowler was Arshad Khan. The over started off with 2 and then only boundaries and over-boundaries. The over of Arshad Khan is like—2, 6, 6, 4, 4, 6. With the help of this over, CSK's run rate was touching the sky, and the strike rate was over 11.
