It was a thrilling night for the Indian Premier League spectators. Mumbai Indians halted Delhi Capitals winning streak and earned their second IPL 2025 with victory. Some of the Mumbai Indians fans applaud their former captain Rohit Sharma for this crucial victory. But Sanjay Manjrekar provided some different opinions. According to Manjrekar, it was the captain, Hardik Pandya, who made the last decision.

Mumbai Indians, one of the most successful IPL teams, has started their ongoing season in a staggering manner. Under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, MI finds it difficult to maintain their momentum on the field. They were also criticized for their impact player utilization in some of the year's previous games. But against Delhi Capitals, there was a completely different scenario for Mumbai Indians. They used their impact player so precisely that the Mumbai Indians met with their second victory of the season.

According to the cricket expert, "There are many people who are there to give suggestions, but it all depends on the person in the middle who has to take the decision. He (Hardik) listened to the advice (from Rohit) is the biggest thing. If you give Rohit credit here as well and not Hardik Pandya, it would be the wrong thing. If the suggestion had failed, you would’ve blamed Hardik." MI used Karn Sharma as an impact player in place of Rohit Sharma. After dismissing Abishek Porel, he guided KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs to the dressing room.

The former cricketer credits Pandya for MI's heroic win

Sanjay believes, "It’s quite easy to give suggestions from outside. The entire credit for this victory should go to Hardik Pandya. Considering how emotional he has been (over MI’s recent results), it was an important win for him." He further added, "It has been quite a difficult journey for him. Would be wrong if social media and others say that Mumbai Indians won because of Rohit Sharma’s suggestions. Hardik Pandya is the captain, and he is the one taking decisions, no matter who is giving suggestions."
