Punjab Kings (PBKS) has suffered a massive setback before their IPL 2025 league game against Mumbai Indians (MI) as Yuzvendra Chahal is reportedly doubtful for the match. As the team tries to secure a top-two position in the standings, Chahal's possible absence could severely hamper the bowling department of the team. Given Chahal's experience and wicket-taking ability, it comes right before the playoffs, making it all the more difficult. `PBKS will hope for a quick recovery to improve their chances.

As per the latest reports, the experienced spinner, who has been in song after donning the red jersey, may not be available for the vital match of the tournament due to injury. If the fresh reports are to be believed, Chahal has sustained a wrist injury.

Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings, both qualified for the play-off phase, will make an entry into the Sawai Mansingh Stadium with a target to get all points to make a booking for a possible top 2 spot. Today's match will be the last assignment before the playoff round for both Punjab and Mumbai.

Both teams with almost equal possibilities to confirm a top 2 place will collide

Mumbai, with 16 points, and Punjab, with 17 points, have chances to make their way into the top 2; for that, they need to win the May 26 match. Chahal, after a struggling period during the initial stage of IPL 2025, has been in great touch from the mid-phase of the competition.

If he is unable to play against Hardik Pandya's team, then Shreyas Iyer and Co. will definitely miss the X-factor from their bowling line-up. In 12 IPL 2025 games so far, the star Indian spinner has taken 14 wickets with a best bowling figure of 4/28. With a slightly higher economy rate of 9.56, he proved himself as a wicket-taking bowler for Punjab Kings.
