Punjab Kings (PBKS) will play Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 on 1 June 2025 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. PBKS, captained by Shreyas Iyer, are coming off a heavy eight-wicket loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Qualifier 1, where they scored just 101 after being dismissed. MI, under captain Hardik Pandya, won in the eliminator recently, beating GT by 20 runs in a mammoth Walton innings where they defended 228. The winner of this match will play RCB in the IPL 2025 Final on June 3. The loser will be eliminated from the tournament!

PBKS chased it down in 18.3 overs with a 109-run partnership between Josh Inglis (73 off 42) and Priyansh Arya (62). Shreyas Iyer (26*(15)) and Nehal Wadhera (2*(2)) finished the chase with Shreyas hitting a six off Trent Boult to win the match. Arshdeep Singh (final over: 3 runs, 2 wickets) kept MI in check to the end.

  • MI: 214/6 (20 Overs)
  • PBKS: 216/4 (18.5 Overs)
  • Result: PBKS won by 6 wickets.

MI put up a good 214/6, which was initiated by Ishan Kishan's 75 and was continued with Suryakumar Yadav's 66. PBKS chased it down in 18.5 overs, with an explosive Liam Livingstone scoring 82*(42) and a well-played Sam Curran scoring 55. MI was kept in the game by Arshdeep Singh's 4/29, which harvested some vital wickets. 

IPL 2022, Match 23 - April 13, 2022, Pune

  • PBKS: 198/5 (20 Overs)
  • MI: 186/9 (20 Overs)
  • Result: PBKS won by 12 runs.

PBKS could only muster 198/5; Shikhar Dhawan scored 70, and Mayank Agarwal scored 52. MI's innings were poor; Dewald Brevis scored 49 and Suryakumar Yadav scored 43 before MI collapsed due to Kagiso Rabada's (2/29) and Odean Smith's (4/30) exploits.
