IPL 2025: Probable Playing XI for RCB vs KKR

IPL 2025 is set to restart with its 58th match, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Kolkata Knight Riders (RCB vs KKR) has been scheduled for Saturday evening (May 17) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bengaluru). It will be their second meeting this season, while RCB thrashed the hosts and defending champions KKR by seven wickets in the season opener. 

In the IPL 2025 points table, Royal Challengers Bengaluru are in the second position with 16 points in 11 games after eight wins and three losses, and the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders are in the sixth position with 11 points in 12 matches after five wins, six losses, and one no result. RCB are running with a four-match winning streak, while KKR lost their last game after two straight wins. 

It is a must-win game for KKR to stay in the competition as they can’t afford another winless finish. Meanwhile, RCB are looking to strengthen their top two positions by winning the forthcoming fixtures.

Talking about the Royal Challengers Bengaluru squad, Tim David, Romario Shepherd, Lungi Ngidi, Jacob Bethell, Liam Livingstone, and Phil Salt are ready to restart the season, along with Indian cricketers. Josh Hazlewood hasn’t returned in India yet as he is recovering from minor shoulder niggle.

Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders will miss Moeen Ali and Rovman Powell due to their medical issues. Apart from them, all other overseas players are available for the remainder of the IPL 2025.
