Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) vs. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru is going to be a spectacular IPL 2025 Match 52 on May 3, 2025. Match time will start at 7:30 PM IST, with RCB (Rajat Patidar as captain) going head-to-head with CSK (with MS Dhoni as captain) in a high-stakes encounter with playoff implications.
RCB and CSK have clashed 34 times in the IPL since 2008, with CSK holding a significant advantage.
RCB has the edge at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium having won 6 matches while CSK has won 4 matches (10 matches overall). RCB's strong batting, led by Virat Kohli and Phil Salt, may take advantage of Bengaluru's flat pitch. CSK's spin attack is especially heavy and bolstered by Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin and Noor Ahmad all of whom will look to take advantage of spin in the middle overs. CSK's middle order, featuring Shivam Dube and Sam Curran, will have to deal with RCB's pace bowling unit led by Josh Hazlewood, especially given Hazlewood may be deadly in the powerplay overs.

The RCB-CSK rivalry has had many entertaining encounters featuring excellent performances and some dramatic finishes:
IPL 2025, Match 8 – March 28, Chennai
RCB posted a total of 196/7 with the highlight being Rajat Patidar's quick 51 off 32 and Tim David's late fireworks, which included a remarkable three consecutive sixes, from his 22* off 8. CSK were always behind the asking rate with Josh Hazlewood (3/21) and Yash Dayal who bowled tight throughout putting pressure on the CSK batting line up, especially after a late fightback from MS Dhoni and his 30* from 16 balls. This was RCB's first win in Chepauk since 2008, with Patidar being named Player of the Match.
IPL 2024, Match 68 – May 18, Bengaluru
RCB scored 218/5 on the back of Virat Kohli's 47 off 29 and Faf du Plessis' 54 off 39. CSK's chase never got going, as Rachin Ravindra showed promise with his 61 off 37; but Yash Dayal (2/42) and Lockie Ferguson (2/39) did all the damage for RCB.
