IPL 2026, Match 42 - GT vs RCB: Toss Update and Playing XI

It is time for the 42nd game of the IPL 2026, as the Gujarat Titans vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru (GT vs RCB) match has been scheduled at Narendra Modi Stadium (Ahmedabad) on Thursday night (April 30). In the ongoing season, it is the third game for this venue, while both teams are playing their ninth match. In the meantime, it is their second meeting of the season. 

The IPL 2022 champions Gujarat Titans are in fifth position with eight points in eight games, recording four wins and four losses. After recording three wins in their first five games, GT lost twice and won the last game in their latest three fixtures. 

Meanwhile, the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru are in the second position in the IPL 2026 points table with 12 points after six wins and two defeats. RCB are very consistent this season, as they are recovering from a defeat quickly, while they have won both their last two games after losing against the Delhi Capitals.

GT and RCB met for the first time this season during the 34th game of the season. While Bengaluru hosted that game, Titans scored 205/3 in 20 overs after the opener Sai Sudharsan scored 100 runs. In reply, RCB chased down the target in 18.5 overs after losing five wickets, where the Player of the Match Virat Kohli scored 81 off 44 balls.

IPL 2026, Match 42 - GT vs RCB: Toss Update

Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to field first. Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper Rajat Patidar would also choose to field first, but is happy to bat first on the pitch.
