IPL 2026 Mini-Auction: Registration, Rules & All You Need to Know

The BCCI hasn’t officially confirmed the dates yet, but the IPL 2026 mini-auction is expected to happen from December 13 to 15, 2025, most likely in India. This comes after the last two auctions were held abroad (in Dubai in 2024 and Jeddah in 2025) to make travel and coordination easier.

Teams need to submit their list of retained and released players by November 15. After that, the BCCI will make the final list of registered players who will be part of the auction.

IPL 2026 Auction: Player Registration Eligibility

Category Rules Notes
Indian Players Must be registered with a state cricket team. Must have played at least one first-class or List A match. U-19 players must have played senior matches too. No strict age limit. Players under 16 usually aren’t allowed unless they’ve played senior cricket.
Overseas Players Must be from countries other than Pakistan. Must have played at least one first-class or List A match. Need a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their cricket board.
How to Register Fill the IPL registration form online. Your board checks your eligibility and sends it to IPL. BCCI makes a list of registered players. Only shortlisted players go into the final auction pool.
