When the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) lost their opening encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, there was a massive pressure on their captain, Rishabh Pant, to produce a strong and clinical performance.
Lucknow was excellent at the start of their second fixture against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium with the ball and continued the dominance for most part of the bowling performance. They struggled towards the end of their chase, but Pant held his nerve to complete the chase.
Rishabh Pant’s viral ‘it’s magic’ video goes viral
Post the win on social media, Rishabh Pant shared a video of his teammates showing his dancing moves on the ‘It’s Magic’ song. The video. It started with Mohammad Shami stretching his hands for the dance move before it moved to Prince Yadav. Pant himself was part of the video along with Adien Markram and Abdul Samad.
The song ‘It’s Magic’ is from the 2003 film ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ and is a celebrated dance track featuring Hrithik Roshan, sung by the late pop singer Taz (Stereo Nation) and composed by Rajesh Roshan. The song highlights the transformation of Hrithik’s character, which symbolizes joy and the influence of the alien Jadoo.

That was the same theory for the Lucknow side, who somehow got the line and will hope to continue the same dominance for the rest of the competition.
Lucknow holds nerve in successful chase against SRH
Against the Sunrisers, Lucknow struck early with wickets inside the power play. Shami’s superb bowling of 2/9 in four overs, including the wickets of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head, was the biggest contributor in the first innings before Prince came with another strong bowling show. Heinrich Klassen and Nitish Reddy’s 116-run stand for the fifth wicket helped the home side to cross the 155-run mark in their allotted 20 overs.

Lucknow was in the chase for most part but kept losing wickets and building pressure on them. But captain Pant stayed till the end for his unbeaten 68 runs in 50 balls, thanks to nine boundaries, and took them over the line with a boundary on the penultimate ball.
