Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become the talk of the town after his explosive batting in yesterday’s MI vs RR match. The 15-year-old showed remarkable composure as he faced Jasprit Bumrah for the first time, sending two towering sixes into the stands in Guwahati and announcing himself as a fearless talent on the big stage.

Alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryavanshi’s destructive innings helped Rajasthan Royals post a formidable total of 150 runs, putting immense pressure on the opposition. His performance not only highlighted his skill but also his ability to remain calm under pressure, even against one of the greatest pacers in the game.

Following this performance, the RR management shared an old video of Suryavanshi touching the feet of Ashish Nehra, showing respect to a former Indian bowler. They captioned the video playfully as a “rare video of Suryavanshi respecting bowlers,” a gesture that perfectly captures the young star’s humility alongside his immense talent.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Incredible Innings in Rain-Affected RR vs MI Match

Much of the pre-match discussion focused on how Vaibhav Suryavanshi would handle the threat of Jasprit Bumrah. After Yashasvi Jaiswal blasted 22 runs off Deepak Chahar, the 15-year-old stepped up to face Bumrah in the second over of the innings.

True to his aggressive style, Suryavanshi sent the Indian pacer over mid-off for an 88-metre six. He followed it with another maximum later in the same over. When bowled slightly short, he rocked back and pulled it high and deep beyond backward square leg, thrilling the crowd with his fearless stroke play.

Suryavanshi, along with Jaiswal, gave Rajasthan Royals a sensational start. The left-handed pair scored 50 runs in just 2.4 overs. RR’s 58/0 at the end of three overs is now the third-highest score at this stage in an IPL innings, after RCB’s 66/0 vs KTK in Bengaluru (2011) and SRH’s 62/0 vs DC in Delhi (2024).

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Old Video Shared by Rajasthan Royals

The video was from an earlier training session, ahead of a fixture against Gujarat. On Friday, 3rd April, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was active during practice and interacted with players like Jos Buttler and Prasidh Krishna. However, it was his meeting with Gujarat Titans head coach Ashish Nehra that caught everyone’s attention.

When Suryavanshi and Nehra spotted each other on the ground, they ran towards one another. The young cricketer did not forget to show respect and rushed forward to touch the former Indian pacer’s feet. Nehra appeared pleasantly surprised and quickly lifted Suryavanshi to give him a warm hug. Seeing this, the 15-year-old could not help but smile.

Suryavanshi also drew attention during a conversation between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Prasidh Krishna. He was seen listening closely as the two stars spoke during the practice session, showing curiosity and eagerness to learn from the seniors.
