In a 43-run winning margin between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Tim David made a massive difference with his knock of an unbeaten 70 runs in just 25 deliveries. 

Tim David came into the crease in the death overs when the CSK side sent back Devdutt Padikkal, who ended up with 50 runs in just 29 balls. At the start, the Singapore-born struggled to get his bat on the ball as he saw Rajat Patidar nailing the big sixes before he joined the party and made the biggest difference.

On the first ball of the penultimate over against Jamie Overton, David whipped away the poor delivery off his legs over the backward square leg region for a massive six before he celebrated an extraordinary half-century with another six on the fourth ball of the over, which was picked off the length and hammered over the long-on region.

On the fifth ball of the over, David launched the length delivery straight down the ground, another the third over boundary of the over before he finished the over against England with another six. The ball was in the slot and was launched over the stadium in the deep square leg region.

That delivery reached the roads outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium as a few fans picked it up after the first innings and clicked a few pictures and selfies as the video went viral on their social media platforms.

RCB hand CSK their third successive defeat of IPL 2026

In the last five overs of the innings, Bengaluru added 92 runs without any damage as David remained unbeaten on 70 runs in 25 balls, thanks to three boundaries and eight sixes, while their captain Rajat Patidar remained undefeated on 48 runs in just 19 deliveries, smashing six over boundaries and one four.

CSK, meanwhile, lost three wickets for 30 runs and still got bundled out for 207 in 19.4 overs as Sarfaraz Khan slammed 50 runs in just 25 balls with the help of eight boundaries and a pair of sixes. Overton himself added 37 runs in 16 balls while Prashant Veer cracked 43 runs in 29 deliveries.
