The Deputy Minister of Bihar Government, Samrat Choudhary, has honored Ishan Kishan with INR 1 crore for his heroics in winning the T20 World Cup 2026 for India.

The Bihar Government has officially recognized the powerful contribution of Ishan Kishan behind India’s successful T20 World Cup 2026 victory as they defended their title from the previous edition. Their Deputy Chief Minister, Samrat Chaudhary, confirmed that the prolific batter was awarded a cash prize of INR 1 crore.
The announcement celebrates a local talent who has become a massive talking point of national pride after the end of the competition. Kishan, who was superb in the domestic T20 event for Jharkhand in winning the trophy, continued the same aggressive approach even in the World Cup.

Samrat Chaudhary utilized social media to expressed the gratitude towards the wicket-keeper batter. He described the southpaw as a ‘brilliant batter’ and noted his vital role in the global competition.
“The member of the Indian cricket team who won the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, the brilliant batsman, the pride of Bihar, Shri @ishankishan51 Ji, was honored by the state government with a cash prize of 1 crore rupees for his crucial contribution in winning the World Cup.” He wrote on his X account (formerly known as Twitter).
The Deputy Chief Minister shed light on how the financial reward acknowledges Kishan’s consistency on the international stage, as he further wished the player to continue the same success to represent the region.

The 27-year-old finished the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2025/26 as the leading run-getter. He clubbed 517 runs in 10 innings at an average of 57.44 and a strike rate of 197.32, thanks to two half-centuries and two centuries at the best score of unbeaten 113 runs, bashing a total of 51 boundaries and 33 sixes.

Kishan backed the same form and ended the T20 WC 2026 as the fourth-highest run-getter with 317 runs in nine innings for India at an average of 35.22 and a strike rate of 193.29, scoring three half-centuries at the best score of unbeaten 97 runs.
Even in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, he has cracked 420 runs in 12 innings at an average of 35 and a strike rate of 185.84, thanks to four fifties at the best score of 91 runs.
