The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may distance themselves from the highly anticipated India vs Pakistan Asia 2025 match amid the 'Boycott' wave on social media platforms. For the last few days, calls from cricket fans, media, and sportspersons to boycott the match have spread rapidly.

After the Pehalgam terror attack incident, followed by Operation Sindoor, India and Pakistan's political standpoints were in unrest. As per the latest reports, ahead of the clash, BCCI officials decided potentially to boycott the match, which is called the 'Invisible Boycott.' If the reports are to be believed, then top BCCI officials, including Jay Shah, the ICC chairman, can distance themselves from the tie. Shah may not be going to attend the match, as he is currently in the United States of America for a meeting.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia also may not be able to attend, as he is busy with preparations for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup. IPL chairman Arun Dhumal can also join the invisible boycott, as per reports. From BCCI, only Rajiv Shukla, who is also a member of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), is reported to attend the match on September 14 at Dubai International Stadium.

BCCI officials to stay away from IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2025 match?

Earlier, BCCI made it clear that they are acting as per the Government of India's decision. In the past, the board refused to travel to Pakistan and even announced that they are not going to play any bilateral series with the archrival.

"So far as the BCCI’s view is concerned, we have to follow whatever the central government formalizes. Recently, our policy regarding India’s participation in any multinational or international tournament clearly states that there are no restrictions imposed by the central government on playing against countries not on friendly terms with India. So, India has to play all matches in any multinational tournament," BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said.
