By the end of four overs, the Delhi Capitals were limping at 9/6 during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 clash against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The home side had no answer to the swinging deliveries after being put into bat first on a dry surface.

Someone had to take the responsibility from thereon at least cross the 50-run mark or aim to get to the three-figure mark if possible. Young Abhishek Porel became the impact player in the eleven as the pressure on the left-handed batter to bail them out of trouble.

Josh Hazlewood’s jaw-dropping yorker shocks Porel

Porel batted well, especially after what happened at the start of the innings. He showed a lot of composure with the bat against the pacers and the spinners to get the boundaries at times. But with nine wickets down, he had to take chances on every single delivery of the innings.

Rajat Patidar brought back Josh Hazlewood into the attack. On the first delivery, the southpaw threw his bat and got the thick outside-edge to the third man region as he denied the single. In the second ball, Porel made a bit of room and smashed the back of a length ball over the mid-off region for a boundary.

But the Australian pacer had the last laugh. He bowled a perfect yorker aimed for the base of the middle-stump as the Bengal wicket-keeper batter backed away and was late in bringing his bat down as the ball sneaked past his bat and made a mess of the stumps to be dismissed on 30 runs.

RCB bundles out DC for 75 in IPL 2026

The Capitals got bundled out for 75 runs, which was the third lowest total in the history of the competition against RCB. It was also the third-lowest score of the DC team in the history of the league. Hazlewood finished with a fine figure of 4/12 in 3.3 overs, as he was well supported by Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s 3/5.

Only three batters of the home side made it into double figures, including Porel, who was David Miller and Kyle Jamieson. Bengaluru could easily complete the chase in a whisker to boost their net run rate.

Brief Scores (at the time of writing): RCB 26/1 (Jacob Bethell 20, Kyle Jamieson 1/20) vs DC 75 (Abhishek Porel 30, Josh Hazlewood 4/12, Bhuvneshwar Kumar 3/10)
