I'm getting married in early April: Josh Inglis

While Punjab Kings didn't retain Josh Inglis ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction, Lucknow Super Giants later signed the Australian cricketer by winning the mini-auction bid for INR 8.6 crore. Now, Inglis revealed that he wouldn't be available for the entire IPL 2026, and we are talking about the reason that he also revealed.

I'm getting married in early April: Josh Inglis

Australian wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis will marry in early April 2026. As the IPL 2026 will run between March 26 and May 31, he is unlikely to be available for the entire season.

The new LSG star, Josh Inglis told ABC Sport, "Well, I sort of watched a lot of it [IPL auction] and I was pushed back in the pecking order. I don't have full availability this year. I'm getting married in early April. So, I didn't really expect to go, to be honest. So I sort of saw my name go by unsold... the first one I was like 'alright stuff this, I'm going to bed' and I need to switch on for tomorrow [Ashes] and then woke up to the news. I didn't know until I'd seen a few messages this morning."

Punjab Kings unhappy with Josh Inglis

Inglis made his IPL debut in the 2025 season, serving for Punjab Kings, who reached the Final last season. In 11 IPL matches, he scored 278 runs with an average of 30.88 and a strike rate of 162.57, including one half-century.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Kings owners are very unhappy with Josh Inglis, as the co-owner Ness Wadia called him not very professional. While the Australian was in their confident retention plan ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction, the status suddenly changed after the Australian informed them of his complete IPL 2026 unavailability just 45 minutes before the retention deadline.
