The Gujarat Titans (GT), after three successive victories in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, faced their third defeat of the campaign against a charged-up Mumbai Indians at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It was their third loss of the season at their home venue, with the 99-run margin has injured their net run rate a lot.

In terms of performance, their right-arm pacer, Kagiso Rabada, has been decent on many clashes with wickets using the new ball inside the powerplay. That has helped them to put early pressure on the opposition sides, who lack fire power in the middle overs of the innings.

Kagiso Rabada caught smoking red-handed on camera in IPL 2026

Gujarat Titans faced a huge defeat against the Hardik Pandya-led side by 99 runs. But a video has gone viral around the social media platforms around Rababa which has again become the centre of the controversy among the fans.

The South African pacer was seen to be smoking and got caught red-handed on camera while doing so. It seemed to be the outside of the stadium as the few other members of the franchise was also present around the pacer.

It’s notable that the Protea star, last year during the IPL, did serve a one-month suspension for testing positive for a recreational drug. The reports from the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport confirmed the presence of a metabolite of cocaine. He was tested on January 21, 2025, during the SA20, but the results were confirmed later.

The pacer was suspended for one month and missed a massive portion of the IPL 2026 with the Titans, which was initially deemed as ‘personal matter.’ He apologised for his actions and stated that he would not allow that incident to define his career. But this smoking video has added another chapter of controversy in his career during this IPL.

Gujarat aims better middle-order batting in IPL 2026

Gujarat will hope to get better contribution from their middle order. They currently depend a lot on their top three, and once they fail to get runs, the entire side falls flat on the floor. When they were restricted to 40/3 in 4.4 overs, the middle order could not bail them out of trouble being 85/7 in 12.2 overs.

Glenn Phillips, apart from his fielding, hasn’t done much with the bat while Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan have also not been able to get runs, putting pressure on their top order more. Their next clash will be against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
