KKR should drop atleast 2 players from starting line-up

KKR, IPL 2025: The defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders are now at the bottom of the IPL 2025 points table with 2 losses in three matches. KKR will face Sunrisers Hyderabad tomorrow at 7.30 PM at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Knight Riders brutally lost their previous match against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede stadium on March 31.

KKR needs to get back to the winning streak as soon as possible; for this, the Purple team management can think about some reshuffle in their first XI. On the basis of recent performance, 2 players deserve to drop out from the first XI. Kolkata Knight Riders bring in Spencer Johnson to replace Mitchell Starc. Spencer so far has played all three matches and got only one wicket. The left-arm pace bowler's economy is higher in comparison to his last season's IPL performance.

Last season, in IPL 2024, the Australian speed star was a part of the Gujarat Titans squad, where he got to play 5 matches in total and took only 4 wickets with an economy rate of 9.43. His performance with Kolkata Knight Riders is looking poorer than before. So far with KKR, Spencer has claimed only 1 wicket in three matches with an economy rate of 10.44, which can prove costly for any team. Another one's performance Kolkata Knight Riders officials can review is Sunil Narine. The mystery spinner turn opener single-handedly destroyed many bowlers in the past; now he is looking not so much comfortable in the field. Another thing is that the opening batter duo of KKR, Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine, are both attacking batsmen.

If KKR wants to solidify their innings, then they can opt for someone who can hold and play an anchor role. Like Narine, de Kock is also looking not consistent despite scoring an unbeaten 97. KKR needs to prepare someone who can play a big part at the top.
