Kranti Gaud got emotional with her family after seeing her name etched on the Lord's honours board, becoming the first woman to take a Test five-wicket haul at the venue.

The right-arm pacer, Kranti Gaud, got visibly emotional with her family as she saw her name on the Lord’s honours board after picking up a five-wicket haul during the one-off Test match against England women. It has been a special occasion this week, as it was the very first red-ball contest in women’s cricket at Lord’s.
Gaud picked up the crucial wickets of Maia Bouchier, Tammy Beaumont, captain Nat Sciver-Brunt, Alice Capsey, and Lauren Bell and ended with figures of 5/37 in her 17 overs, including seven maidens, at an economy rate of 2.20.

“This is where they are going to write my name,” Gaud said to her family as India’s captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, joined them in the discussion and praised her performance to put the blue brigade in a clinical position in the game.
Finally, Gaud took the marker pen and wrote her name along with the country’s name and bowling figures on the board. Her name came just under Nathan Smith, who picked up the fifer during the recent Test match between England and New Zealand at the venue.
How Kranti Gaud picked up her maiden five-wicket haul at Lord's
Gaud drew the first blood for the Indian side with the dismissal of Beaumont. It was a back-of-a-length delivery around the off stump as it nipped in sharply and kept a bit low. The batter was caught in the crease as she tried to keep it out and got beaten on the inside edge to get rapped on the pads.
Bouchier was dismissed for 23 runs by Gaud, as the batter’s lazy shot selection with the opening face of the bat saw her get an outside edge, with Richa Ghosh making no mistake behind the stumps.

Gaud came back later to break the off-stump of Alice Capsey with a beautiful delivery as the off-stump went for a toss. One of her vital wickets was of Nat Sciver-Brunt, as the beautiful delivery went through the defense of the batter.
