Tilak Varma recently underwent a testicular torsion surgery last Wednesday (January 7) after getting injured in a recent match against Bengal. While the 23-year-old has also been included for the upcoming home five-match T20I series against New Zealand, starting on January 21, he will be a key factor for the Men in Blues in the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. There is nothing serious or alarming about it: Hyderabad coach about Tilak Varma's surgery

Hyderabad coach DB Ravi Teja told Cricbuzz on Thursday that Tilak had a very minor surgery on Wednesday, and the Indian cricketer would be ready in three to four days.

The coach claimed, "It was a very minor surgery he underwent in Rajkot on Wednesday. There is nothing serious or alarming about it. He will be ready in three to four days."

The coach further added that Tilak was with the team, and he would travel back with the team to Hyderabad. He also claimed that the key Indian player would be fine ahead of the home T20I series against New Zealand.

The coach added, "Tilak is with the team currently, and he will travel back with the side to Hyderabad. I personally think he should be fine for the Twenty20 series against New Zealand."

The Hyderabad coach further claimed that Tilak would even play for the team in the last group stage fixture of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, but they haven't taken any risk due to the lack of importance in the game.

DB Ravi Teja added,  "He would have been ready to play today. We did not want to take chances since we had no chance of qualifying for the knockouts."
