During the second day of the second Test between India and the West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Shubman enjoyed his 10th Test century as he didn’t repeat the same mistake from the opening Ahmedabad Test when he made 50 in the lone innings of the Blue Brigade with the bat. Soon after his century, they decided to declare after crossing 500.

However, a heartwarming and funny moment took place during the game when a young female fan’s proposal for Shubman Gill went viral on social media. The display of admiration turned into the most-talked-about moment of the encounter, capturing the attention of fans.

During the first innings of the Delhi Test, Gill was involved in a steady and long partnership with the opening batter, Yashasvi Jaiswal, when the camera found a female fan holding up a placard that read, “I love you, Shubman.” The crowd erupted as the broadcasters highlighted the light-hearted moment. The social media went mad after that.

The clip went viral on various social media platforms as enthusiasts flooded with comments. While Gill maintained his composure in the middle for the rest of the day, the fans started various speculations. A few days ago, during a function, the Punjab-born gave a message about his relationship status.

“I’ve been single for over three years. There have been so many speculations and rumors linking me with different people. Sometimes, it’s so ridiculous that I would have never even seen or met that person in my life. And I would be hearing rumors that I’m with this person and this person, where else I’d be like.” Gil addressed.

Thanks to two centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill, along with the 87-run knock from Sai Sudharsan, India declared on 518 runs. They also got an early success with the wicket of John Campbell early in the bowling and will look to put more pressure on the opponents by the end of the day’s play.
