Watch: Lungi Ngidi dismisses Virat Kohli for 19 during RCB vs DC clash in IPL 2026
The right-arm pacer of the Delhi Capitals (DC), Lungi Ngidi, dismisses Virat Kohli for 19 runs during the RCB vs DC clash of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 in Bengaluru.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has been on a roll during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 with four victories in five encounters as they prepared themselves for the next meeting against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, with the visitors coming off a week's break, having experienced two successive defeats in four fixtures.
The visiting captain, Axar Patel, won the toss and had no hesitation in bowling first on a ground where chasing becomes easier due to the short boundaries. Both teams were unchanged as the Capitals needed to break the successful opening pair of Virat Kohli and Phil Salt.
Lungi Ngidi removes Virat Kohli for 19 in IPL 2026
Salt took charge against Auqib Nabi for the opening boundary of the afternoon before Kohli’s outside edge flew wide of the diving slip fielder for the same result. Despite the boundaries, it was a comparatively slow start for the defending champions.

On the fifth over against Nabi, Salt decided to break free as he slammed the first ball for a four through the backward point region before swinging his bat over the long-on for a massive six. Kohli perhaps tried to continue the same momentum.
He welcomed Lungi Ngidi, using the feet down the track. But the scrambled seam delivery on the length outside the off stump went away from the right-handed batter, who didn’t get the right placement and picked Pathum Nissankar at the deep over region. The replay showed it came off the bottom part of the bat for Kohli to get back into the hut for 19 runs.
It was the second dismissal for the Delhi-born against the Protea pacer, who has leaked 27 runs in 19 balls in the face-off.
Phil Salt’s half-century settles RCB on slow track
Despite the loss of Kohli, Bengaluru didn’t take their guard down and continued the onslaught. Salt celebrated another half-century in the campaign before being dismissed on 63 runs off 38 balls at a strike rate of 165.78 with the help of four boundaries and three sixes.
The slow surface created issues for the batters to get their perfect timing as both the spinners, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav, opened their account in the wickets column. RCB reached 110/3 in 11 overs.
Brief Scores (at the time of writing): RCB- 132/4 (Phil Salt 63, Axar Patel 1/9) vs DC
